Deep Space 2 members attended to the FACTS Convention. Some went on Saterday, most went on Sunday, some went the entire weekend.
The FACTS convention is a big event with lots of dealers, special guests like actors and artists, costume competition, party, etc. During the entire weekend there were fifteen thousand visitors. The last few years we have noticed that there are less dealers (400 in 2005, 140 in 2010) but more artists, actors and special guests.


Saterday:

One word: overcrowded again like last year...

At 11.30 there were seven thousand visitors in the building and no more visitors were allowed for fire safety and security reasons.

But lucky for us we had bought our tickets on the internet and we could skip the queue at the entrance. The FACTS was the only event in the Benelux this year, but also the biggest event in Europe. Not only people from Belgium visited the FACTS but lots of people from the UK, Germany, France, The Netherlands and even further away had come. Due to the crowd it was difficult to get good pictures, but there was enough room between the dealers to let everyone pass. The artists and actors were very friendly, but the queue at the signing stands were sometimes long. Especially the lines for the fotoshoots. The Q&A room was bigger than last year but still much to small so people in the back had to stand and almost could not see anything of the stage. For thousands of visitors much to small.

Sunday:

Like last year there was about half the number of visitors than on Saterday. So we had a great time walking through the hundreds of dealers at ease.
Although there still were less visitors in total, the waiting at the signing tables and photoshoots were still long.
Sadly the Q&As were rather short (about 15 to 30 minutes).

The FACTS 2011 was a great busy convention where people meet again after a long time or those who you have seen last week. The FACTS is a place where you can find old and new merchandise see and have a chat with special guests os have a picture drawn by a famous comic artist.

Thanks to all Deep Space 2 members for the great company. It was great to see you all again.
